Teach Incheese holiday cottage is located just 5kms from the village of Waterville, Co. Kerry in a very quiet rural area on the grounds of a sheep farm. It is sited to take in some of the most breathtaking sea and mountain scenery the area has to offer.
The Iveragh peninsula is one of Irelands leading tourist destinations whose scenic beauty, landscape, diversity and heritage are recognised through a variety of national and European Designations. Incheese is a private holding (non commonage) listed as a Special Area of Conservation(SAC). It that has a great range of habitats, is rich in wildlife, i.e. fox, grouse, snipe, woodcock, white tail eagle, mountain hare and sometimes sike deer. The upland has an abundance of a variety of grasses and heathers. Species such as purple, mooringrass, matt grass etc. Scottish Black Face Ewes roam the mountain side year round. The streams of water within the farm gives this unique habitat a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Waterville sits between Ballinskelligs Bay and Lough Currane. It is the premier coastal touring centre on the Ring of Kerry and has attracted many famous celebrities over the years, including Charlie Chaplin and his family, still well remembered in the town. All around are lovely beaches and fine walks. There are shops and pubs as well as an excellent choice of restaurants - from budget to fine cuisine - with seafood being a specialty in many of them.
The Ring of Kerry panoramic route has long been one of the favorite sightseeing tours of Ireland and is leading around the Iveragh Peninsula passing through a succession of magnificent landscapes.
A less known side route leads from Waterville to Ballinskelligs and through beautiful mountain scenery further on to Portmagee and Valentia Island.
